Dream Big, Summer Reading

Summer Reading is an annual program to drive library usage, and material circulation. It motivates children and teens to read during the summer. The targeted groups are kids and tweens, but all ages are encouraged to participate. The theme for 2012 was Dream Big at Your Library.

Materials for this year included a board game, recommended reading list, bookmarks, and a poster. Patrons and staff complimented the pieces and design. This is an email I received from the client.

The Youth and Family Services dept has already raved about our Design dept’s fabulous work on the Summer Reading materials, but I’m sure it’s nice to hear it from patrons and staff as well. This comment came in through one of our weekly staff surveys:

“A number of parents have complimented the marketing department on the beauty of the handouts. I’ve never before heard such a positive response to the artwork. We have made sure to give the parents their own game cards when we hand out the children’s gameboards. They like being able to join the prize drawing.”
